Xbox Free Play Days Adds Hell Let Loose: Vietnam & More This Weekend (Sep. 17 - 20)

Xbox Free Play Days is back with two games that players can check out for free this weekend. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is available at no extra cost for Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium and Ultimate subscribers, while Sea of Thieves is free for all Xbox users, even without a Game Pass subscription.

Two Xbox games are free to play from September 17 to 20

The latest Free Play Days lineup runs from today, September 17, through Sunday, September 20. The two games included this week are Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and Sea of Thieves, although the access requirements are different for each title.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is the newer addition and gives Game Pass subscribers a chance to jump into its large-scale first-person shooter gameplay without purchasing the game separately. The title is focused on intense multiplayer combat, although Xbox Series S players may want to be aware of reported performance concerns before jumping in.

Sea of Thieves is the more accessible option this weekend. Microsoft is making the pirate multiplayer game available through Free Play Days to all Xbox users, meaning a Game Pass subscription is not required to play during the promotion.

Sea of Thieves gets another reason to jump in

The timing also works well for Sea of Thieves players, as Season 21 launches today. New players can therefore use the free period to see what the pirate adventure has to offer before deciding whether they want to keep playing after the promotion ends.

There is one thing achievement hunters should know. Sea of Thieves currently has 11 discontinued achievements, along with two achievements that are partly discontinued or unobtainable. That is worth keeping in mind if achievements are part of your reason for trying the game.

The two Free Play Days games are available until Sunday, September 20. Game Pass subscribers can also check their available September perks alongside this week’s free-play promotion.
