XBOX Free Play Days Brings Marathon, Family Man & More This Weekend (June 4 - 7)
It’s Thursday, which means XBOX Free Play Days is yet again upon us. As always, Reddit user Oliomono has shared some games that will be part of the XBOX Free Play Days lineup ahead of the official announcement from Microsoft. The official lineup for this weekend will be announced later today.
This weekend’s XBOX Free Play Days brings Bungie’s latest multiplayer extraction shooter
Bungie’s latest shooter title, Marathon, will be free to play this weekend from June 4th (today) through June 7th (Sunday). For those unaware, Marathon reached a peak of 143,621 concurrent players on Steam on day one of the Server Slam. However, the player count dropped after the launch of Slay of Aspire 2.
That said, Marathon ranked #1 on XBOX in the United States for average hours played per user during the week ending April 18, 2026. If you haven’t got around to it just yet, this might be your time to try it for free before you think about buying it. In case you are wondering, here’s the blurb of the game:
Infil into the dark sci-fi world of Tau Ceti IV: A derelict colony rife with rival Runners, hostile UESC security forces, and unpredictable environments. As you scavenge its zones for valuables with a crew or alone, tense moments of exploration break into fast-paced PvP combat where gunplay is responsive, supplies are finite, and preparation is rewarded. Exfil to advance your seasonal power, earn cosmetics for your achievements, and assemble stronger builds with your stolen loot. Then put your gear back on the line to seek even greater fortunes in your next run.
Family Man & Nowhere Prophet
Accompanying Marathon in this weekend’s XBOX Free Play Days lineup is Family Man. It is a dark, story-led RPG inspired heavily by the Breaking Bad series, where you play as an ordinary, struggling family man who falls into a dangerous life of crime to provide for his household. Last but not least, you have Nowhere Prophet, a single-player card game with procedurally generated maps, a high difficulty, and permadeath.
It goes without saying that the official lineup might include more games in this weekend’s XBOX Free Play Days lineup. As of now, it’s unclear whether the aforementioned games will require an XBOX Game Pass subscription to play for free. We’ll update this article once the official XBOX Wire post goes live.
So, which of the games are you most excited for to try this weekend and why? Let us know in the comments below.
