Xbox Game Pass Price Drops, But Future ‘Call of Duty’ Games Won't Launch Day One
Existing Call of Duty titles already available on Game Pass will remain unaffected
Earlier this month, multiple reports hinted that Asha Sharma, the current CEO of Xbox, isn’t happy with Xbox Game Pass pricing. Well, the announcement is here, and you’d be happy to know that it’s in favor of players. Starting today, Xbox is adjusting its Game Pass pricing structure across key subscription tiers.
Xbox updates Game Pass pricing and Call of Duty games’ rollout
As a result, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is now priced at $22.99 per month, down from $29.99. PC Game Pass is also seeing a drop, moving from $16.49 to $13.99 per month. Do note that prices may vary depending on region.
Besides the price cuts, Microsoft has confirmed that new Call of Duty titles will no longer launch on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at day one. Not surprising, given that we have been hearing about it for a few weeks now. So, what’s changed? Well, these games will arrive later during the following holiday season, roughly a year after release.
Meanwhile, existing Call of Duty titles already available on Xbox Game Pass will remain unaffected and continue to be accessible to subscribers.
Despite the adjustment in release timing, Game Pass Ultimate still includes hundreds of games across console and PC. That includes current Call of Duty entries, online multiplayer access, in-game perks, and major day-one releases from other publishers.
