Xbox Insiders often get early access to new features. Guess what? A new feature is here yet again, for Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead rings. The Xbox Insider Build 2506.250501-2200 has brought support for keyboard and mouse play on Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta).

Although the list of supported games is currently isn’t that long, this feature could improve the Cloud Gaming experience. Gamers who prefer a keyboard and mouse over a controller make the most out of Xbox Cloud Gaming. They can enjoy their favorite titles without being limited to a traditional controller.

Play Xbox Cloud Games on Xbox Consoles with Mouse & Keyboard

Mouse and keyboard users rejoice! With the latest updates to Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), you can now use a mouse and keyboard to play some of your favorite Xbox cloud games on your Xbox console. Much like the current experience on PC and in some browsers, there are currently a select number of titles that support mouse and keyboard input, but more are coming.

The update is not all about the ability to play games on Xbox Cloud Games using keyboard and mouse. Xbox also adds that it has fixed a few known issues and bugs.

  • Fixes to address an unexpected error that could occur when updating a controller indicating there was a problem.

  • Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console.

While only a limited number of Xbox games are playable with keyboard and mouse for now, Microsoft has confirmed more will be added soon. This makes it a feature worth keeping an eye on, especially for players who want to play more games on Cloud Gaming with their preferred control method.

This update is currently rolling out to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead rings. If you’re not yet in these rings, you’ll need to progress through Omega, Delta, and Beta to eventually get an invite.
