Xbox officially launches Mythic Achievements for Insiders

Over the past few weeks, there have been multiple reports about Xbox’s Mythic Achievement. Well, it’s officially here. Xbox today announced that Mythic Achievements are now available for Insiders. That means achievement hunters now have a new milestone to chase.

Xbox finally makes Mythic Achievements official for Insiders

As Xbox puts it, the feature is designed to recognize players who completely finish a game’s original achievement list. Xbox says Mythic status is awarded once every original achievement has been unlocked, while achievements added later through DLC or updates do not count toward the requirement.

One of the more interesting parts of the rollout is that players do not necessarily have to start from scratch. Xbox says Mythic Achievements have already been added retroactively to eligible games that players completed in the past, including Xbox 360 titles.

That means some players could open their Xbox profile and immediately find several Mythic Achievements waiting for them.

The feature also adds a new Gaming tab to Xbox profiles. From there, players can check their achievement history, track their next Gamerscore milestone badge and see which games they have completed.

Mythic Achievements get a special heroic frame in the achievement history, making them easier to spot. Players can also visit their friends’ Gaming tabs to see which games they have taken to Mythic status.

Xbox makes the road to Mythic easier to track

Xbox is also adding a progress bar at the top of each game’s achievement list. It shows how close players are to Mythic status and lets them focus on the original achievements they still need.

Achievements added later are marked as “add-on,” so players can clearly see which ones count toward Mythic. Similar progress information will also appear in Xbox Guide and Achievement details.

For now, Mythic Achievements are rolling out to Xbox Insiders, with Xbox saying the program is intended to help test the feature and gather feedback before broader availability.
