Xbox Series X25 Sold Out Within Moments as Scalpers Strike

The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition has already created pre-order chaos, with many fans unable to complete their purchases before stock disappeared.

Pre-orders opened with strong demand, but Reddit users quickly reported problems securing the console.

Some buyers managed to add the Xbox Series X25 to their carts, only to see the console go out of stock before they could finish checkout. Others said available units disappeared almost instantly.

Microsoft priced the limited-edition console at $899. Each unit also comes individually numbered, which has made it particularly attractive to collectors.

Scalpers are already asking up to $3,000

Xbox Series X25 consoles began appearing on resale platforms almost immediately after pre-orders opened.

Some eBay listings reportedly reached prices as high as $3,000, more than three times Microsoft’s official price.

The listings suggest scalpers managed to secure a portion of the available stock despite Microsoft’s efforts to give genuine Xbox fans a better chance of purchasing the limited-edition console.

More resale listings have also started appearing across different markets while authorized retailers remain short on stock.

eBay appears to be removing some listings

eBay now appears to be removing at least some Xbox Series X25 listings.

Several listings ended with notices saying the item was “no longer available” rather than showing that someone had purchased it.

The console has not shipped yet, which means anyone buying from a reseller would effectively pay a large premium for a promise that the seller will deliver the console later.

Buyers should avoid paying inflated prices to scalpers, especially when the console has not yet reached customers. The risk of scams remains high, and waiting for additional authorized stock offers a safer option.
