What can I do if Xbox is unable to find my mic? First off, make sure that your microphone is actually working. If the problem persists, try adjusting your settings and switch to Energy Saving mode. If that doesn’t work, try restarting your Xbox One.

  1. Go to Xbox One Home and select Sign in.
  2. Select the Choose this person option.
  3. Once you select the desired profile, check if your mic is working fine.

2. Check Xbox Settings

If Xbox is unable to find your microphone, perhaps the issue is related to your settings. You can fix that by doing the following:

  1. Press on the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Then, go to Settings and select All Settings from the options listed.
  3. Now, choose Adult defaults and click on View details and customize.

5. Select Energy Saving in Settings

There are two power options in Xbox settings, the Energy Saving and the Instant On. The energy saving takes less power and it can help you if Xbox can’t detect your microphone. Here are steps to turn on energy saving.

  1. Go to Xbox One Settings.
  2. Then, go to the Power and startup option.
  3. Now, in the Power option, highlight power mode and select Energy Saving.
  4. Save every change and exit.

6. General Settings

If you have tried the methods above and your mic isn’t still working, try these tips and see if the mic works.

Ensure that you are using a headset that is compatible with Xbox and check if all the cables are plugged in correctly. Confirm that the headset is not set on mute.

  1. Go to headphone settings to change the headset format from Headset audio to Windows Sonic.
  2. Then, ensure that the headset is in the right condition.
  3. Adjust the game sound. If the sound is 100% for the game, you will only hear the game sound and not the chats.
  4. Change the battery of your controller.
  5. Also, turn off Virtual Surround in apps.
  6. Disconnect the headset and plug it back in after some time.
  7. Go to Settings >Device and Accessories in the group of options to increase the audio.
  8. Ensure that Xbox is updated to the latest version.
