Key notes
- Resetting your password can help if Yahoo won't login while using VPN.
- You can also try using Split Tunneling in your VPN as a workaround for this issue.
Are you experiencing problems with Yahoo and VPN? This isn’t uncommon, and if you encounter this issue, you won’t be able to access Yahoo at all.
This is a difficult issue to tackle, but we’ll try to provide you with several potential solutions that you can try.
Which VPN is good for Yahoo?
It seems that Yahoo is having issues with various VPNs, and one of the most common causes for login issues is your VPN, so using one with Yahoo is discouraged.
What can I do if Yahoo isn’t working with VPN?
Before you try any other steps, you might want to try using a different browser and check if that helps. You can also try temporarily disabling our VPN as a workaround.
1. Use the Forgot username option
- Visit the Yahoo Mail page.
- Click on the Forgot username link.
- Next, enter your email, recovery email, or phone number and click Continue.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.
- Try to log in with new sign-in information.
2. Use the split tunneling feature on your VPN
- Visit NSLookup page.
- Paste the following address and click on Find IP address:
https://login.yahoo.com/
- Now, copy the IP address.
- Open your VPN software and go to Settings.
- Navigate to Split Tunnel. Next, check the Split Tunnel checkbox. Lastly, click on Add IP Address.
- Paste the IP address from Step 3 and save the changes.
Remember that this method won’t fix the problem, but it will only disable VPN when trying to access Yahoo.
While Yahoo doesn’t necessarily block VPNs, your choice of providers can still determine your experience with its service. You may also get the temporary error 15 if you’re in a different location, so try switching it off.
Speaking of VPNs, we also have a guide on what to do if the VPN has SMTP blocked. Keep in mind that other services might have issues with VPNs, and we wrote about how Outlook disconnects when using a VPN in our other guide.
Because of this, use any of the VPNs mentioned in this post to connect to Yahoo over a VPN easily.
With any of these VPNs, you’re sure to stop experiencing the issue of Yahoo not working with VPN.
