Scheduling a Teams channel meeting is about to become a little less daunting task, thanks to Outlook Calendar integration.

Teams meetings are getting closer to Outlook

The upcoming option will let users schedule a Microsoft Teams channel meeting directly from Outlook Calendar. Once created, the meeting can stay connected to the appropriate Teams channel, keeping the discussion and related meeting content in the same place.

That could make a difference for teams that regularly use dedicated channels for projects, departments, or recurring discussions. Instead of creating a regular Teams meeting and then connecting it back to a channel, users will have the channel meeting option directly within the calendar workflow. Microsoft plans to start rolling out the feature in October 2026, and it will be available on desktop and Mac.

Outlook and Teams are becoming more connected

This is another small but practical change that brings Microsoft’s collaboration tools closer together. Outlook handles the scheduling while Teams remains the place where channel-based conversations and meeting content live. Not to forget, Outlook Web is also scheduled to get a multi-account search feature to scour through your mailboxes at once. As far as Teams is concerned, the company will soon make meetings more accessible with a persistent pop-out interpreter video.
