When it comes to password management software, LastPass and RoboForm are the two big names that come to my mind. While the former one has been available in the Windows Store for quite a while now, the official RoboForm app for Windows 8.1 users has been recently released into the Windows Store. We’re having a quick look at it.

Windows 8 users of the RoboForm software for desktop have been requesting for a while now a touch-enabled version of the password manager utility and they have finally been listened to. The new app comes with a size of less than one megabyte and is available for x86, x64, ARM machines, which means you will be able to use it on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 desktop and touch devices, as well as on Windows RT. I played around myself with the app for a few minutes and have grown fond of it, especially thanks to its ease of use and nice design.

When you will open the app for the first time, you will be required to sign in if you have an account with them or sign up for a new one. The ‘Get Started’ section will guide you on how to use the RoboForm app for Windows 8.1 if you are new to the utility. I have experienced some moments when the app felts slow, but that’s just when you load it for the first time. Everything becomes much smoother after you login. And, after all, it’s the first version, so there are bound to be various bugs and glitches.

RoboForm is a password manager and form filler that automatically remembers your passwords so you’ll never have to remember or type your passwords again. RoboForm for Windows “Metro” is a version of RoboForm that allows you to use your Logins from your RoboForm Everywhere account on your Windows portable device or in Windows 8 “Metro” mode on your desktop.

Since Windows 8’s own architecture does not allow any integration, RoboForm runs in its own browser. By using the app, you can easily saves and stores passwords in a central location, and if you have more than ten important online accounts, like I do, this utility is a must-have. The passwords are also sync synchronized with your other computers and mobile devices. The app also comes with a one click Login and Multi-step Logins which make use of the “Matching Passcards” button in the built-in browser.
