Outlook Error 1001: Use These 5 Solutions to Fix it

How do I get rid of error code 1001 in Outlook?

1. Modify your registry

1. Press the Windows key + R and enter regedit.
   
2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity\Identities
3. Delete everything from the Identities key.
4. Start Outlook again.

2. Delete OneAuth and IdentityCache folders

1. Open the Run dialog with Windows key + R and enter %localappdata%\Microsoft
   
2. Locate OneAuth and IdentityCache folders.
3. Select each of them, cut them, and move them to Desktop.
4. Lastly, restart Outlook and check if the problem is gone.

Some users are suggesting navigating to the following path in the Run dialog: %systemroot%\system32\AppLocker

After that, just delete all files from the AppLocker folder.

3. Use a PowerShell script

1. Open Notepad and paste the following code:

2. Go to File and select Save as.
   
3. Set Save as type to All files and name as reset.ps1
   
   
4. After doing that, run reset.ps1 file as administrator.

Alternatively, you can use this script instead:

4. Reinstall Windows default apps

1. In the Search bar, enter powershell. Select Run as administrator.
   
2. Once it opens, run Get-AppxPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
   
3. This will repair default apps and components and the issue should be gone.

5. Use the Command Prompt to remove registry keys

1. Press the Windows key + S and type cmd. Choose Run as administrator.
   
2. Run the following commands:
   reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\FirewallRules /va /f
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\RestrictedServices\Configurable\System /va /f
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\RestrictedServices\AppIso\FirewallRules /va /f
3. After doing that, check if the problem is resolved.

How do I clear my Outlook cache?

1. Open Run dialog with Windows key + R and enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache
   
2. Select all files inside that directory and delete them.
3. Start Outlook again.
