A little while ago, the notorious Microsoft leaker WalkingCat suggested that a new screen clipping experience was hidden in Windows 10 Redstone 5 build 17627. Microsoft watchers quickly followed up to suggest the leak was right, also saying that a new UWP clipping experience was also in the works. Well, WalkingCat is back on the topic again and says that the Screen Clipping experience should now be “mostly complete” (via MSPoweruser.)

WalkingCat apparently found the resources in a Redstone 5 build, and says that the new screen clipping experience also lets users capture “Left Screen, Right Screen, or Both Screens.” This is rather peculiar since there is no current Microsoft device on the market which has these types of screens. It perhaps suggests that the rumored folding Surface Phone Andromeda is real, and Redstone 5 may have custom experiences just for the device.

WalkingCat also says that the screen clipping experience allows users to draw a shape on the screen to create a screen snip. This is again rather interesting, as it can prove to be useful for clipping out images and putting it in a digital journal with dual screens.

It is rather strange to see another screen clipping experience make its way into Windows, especially since there are already so many ways to do such a simple thing. However, given the rash of Microsoft patents relating to a folding device and these latest tweets, this latest experience might be designed with a new device in mind. With the development of Redstone 4 winding down, more on this Redstone 5 screen clipping feature might surface soon to Windows Insiders soon, so it is best to keep tuned for more.
