Valve’s Steam Deck is set to finally arrive in select Asian markets next month. The official Steam Deck Twitter account announced on Tuesday that Steam Decks will begin shipping in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan on December 17th. Preorders were made available in those regions back in August, courtesy of Valve’s partnership with Tokyo-based Komodo.

Komodo is a game software developer/publisher and gaming product logistics company founded in 2021.

The pricing breakdown for the basic Steam Deck model is as follows.

  • 59,800 yen in Japan (roughly $431)
  • HK$ 3,288 in Hong Kong
  • KRW 589,000 in Korea
  • NT$ 13,380 in Taiwan

The Steam Deck docking station will also be made available in these regions. Here is the pricing breakdown.

  • 14,800 yen in Japan
  • HK$ 828 in Hong Kong
  • KRW 149,000 in Korea
  • NT$ 3,280 in Taiwan

It’ll be interesting to see how Valve’s handheld gaming PC performs in those markets. The Steam Deck released in North America and Europe back in February this year, and thus far has sold over 1 million units.
