Fallout 4 next-gen update has hit PC and consoles, and while many were excited about the launch, it seems that there are some issues with the game.
Many unhappy gamers reported problems with the Xbox Series X|S version of the game, so let’s dive into it and see what went wrong.
The next-gen version of Fallout 4 is stuck in Performance Mode on Xbox
The Fallout franchise recently had 5 million players in a single day, and many were excited for the next-gen update of Fallout 4 and the chance to venture into the wasteland in 4K resolution.
However, that’s not going to be possible on Xbox as Pure Xbox writes. As you know, the Quality Mode will enhance the quality of the textures, while lowering the framerate to 30-40fps.
Keen-eyed users noticed that the game always runs at 60fps, even in the Quality Mode, which led users to conclude that the Quality Mode is not working at all.
Even if you enable it, the game will always stick to the Performance Mode. PS5 gamers have confirmed that this issue isn’t present on their consoles, so it seems that this only affects Xbox.
Luckily, Bethesda is aware of this issue, and they are already working on a patch. The launch wasn’t smooth on the PC platform either, and many reported that the next-gen update for Fallout 4 has widescreen issues, but these can be easily fixed with a bit of tweaking.
