Viva Engage Unified Create

Viva Engage is set to introduce a new way for users to create posts on the platform: a new button called the Unified Create button. According to an entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, this new capability will be introduced to Viva users starting next month and will allow all those creating content on the platform to use a single button to do so.

As the Redmond-based tech giant states, Engage users need to go to different areas within the platform to create various types of content. A regular post needs a specific button, while a community post needs another button.

However, with the new Unified Create button, Viva Engage seeks to ease the creation process and help users quickly learn the tools they are licensed to use.

Here’s what the entry says:

This feature brings a new way for users to create posts, communities etc. through a centralized creation button in Viva Engage. Currently, Engage users need to go to different locations in the application for different creation types – a post, community, etc. Starting in October 2024, a Viva Engage user will be able to create the different types of content already enabled for them, using a centralized creation button. This new feature eases the process of creation and helps users quickly discover the various creation options they are licensed to use.

With this update, Viva Engage will have a similar posting UI to other social media platforms, such as FaceBook, where users can create different kinds of posts in one single place. This should streamline and increase productivity in the coming months while making it easier for users to interact with the platform.

The Redmond-based tech giant has been updating Viva Engage with several functional capabilities lately. For instance, earlier this year, Viva Engage allowed admins to mute users and limit their engagement for a safer working environment.

What do you think about this new capability?
