How to fix BO6 Error Code 2901

The BO6 error code 2901 usually occurs when you are playing from a Game Pass shared account. Activision basically doesn’t allow sharing the game and you get the Black Ops 6 error code 2901. The same error appears in MW3 with the same reason. If you’re not in this situation, the error may also be caused by problematic cache and cookies or account issues.

How do I fix the BO6 error code 2901?

1. Clear the browser’s cache and cookies

  1. In Google Chrome, click the menu button and select Delete browsing data.
  2. Now, select the Time range to All time, check the Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files and click on Delete data.
  3. Try visiting the BO6 login page again or try the Activision login page.

This is a troubleshooting suggestion from the Activision support department. They also recommend clearing the cache of the profile.callofduty.comand page. We have shown above how to clear the cache and cookies from Chrome, but the process is similar on other popular browsers.

You may also try a different browser or opening the login page on an incognito page.

2. Make sure that you have a stable internet connection

The BO6 error code 2901 may also be caused by problems with the servers or your local connection. To eliminate the first potential problem, open a browser and go to the Activision’s BO6 status page, or check the Downdetector CoD page to see if there is anything wrong with their online services.

If the services are online and working, check your connection speed on a dedicated website and see if it’s on par with the specifications of your internet contracted services.

In case you’re using a Wi-Fi network, try switching to cable or disconnect some of the devices in your local network.

3. Contact Activision support for BO6

If none of the above solutions worked for you, feel free to visit the Activision support page and contact them to fix the BO6 error code 2901. Keep in mind that BO6 is now in Open Beta phase and it is prone to a lot of bugs and problems.

To conclude our guide, you can’t play Black Ops 6 on a Game Pass shared account. Try creating a new account to fix the BO6 error code 2901. If that’s not the case, and you didn’t manage to fix the problem with the solutions above, try reinstalling the game on your PC.
