The latest KB5048667/KB5048685 Patch Tuesday update for Windows 11 solves one huge security issue

Microsoft has released KB5048667 for Windows 11 24H2 and KB5048685 for Windows 11 23H2 and 22H2. The company also released KB5048652, KB5048661, KB5048671, and KB5048703 for Windows 10 versions 21H2, 20H2, 1909, and 1809.
Windows 11 24H2, 23H2, and 22H2 get security, servicing stack updates:
For Windows 11 24H2, Microsoft has released KB5048667 (Build 26100.2605). The update includes the following security updates:
- Addresses a security vulnerability by preventing connections to Windows devices using the Netlogon Remote Protocol, such as SAM and LSAD, from unauthenticated connections. For more information, see CVE-2022-2302.
And for Windows 11 23H2 and 22H2, the company has released KB5048685 (Build 22631.4602 and 22621.4602). This update includes the following security fix:
- Addresses a security vulnerability by preventing connections to Windows devices using the Netlogon Remote Protocol, such as SAM and LSAD, from unauthenticated connections. For more information, see CVE-2022-2302.
Additionally, Microsoft has issued a new servicing stack update (SSU) for Windows 11, version 24H2, labeled KB5049685 (Build 26100.2592).
For Windows 11, versions 23H2 and 22H2, there’s KB5046729 (Build 22621.4539 and 22631.4539).
