CD Projekt Red Teases Surprise Game Launch in Upcoming Months, Details Still Under Wraps

CD Projekt Red, the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077, has quietly confirmed that a new game is on the way. In its latest FY2025 earnings update, the studio revealed plans to release an unannounced gaming project in the coming quarters.

CD Projekt Red hints at mystery release in pipeline

The update comes from internal presentation slides, where CD Projekt Red outlined its near-term roadmap. The company stated it plans to publish one of its previously unannounced projects within the “upcoming quarters,” although it stopped short of sharing specific details (via Insider Gaming).

As of now, it’s unclear what this project actually is. That said, the timing has already sparked speculation online. Some reports suggest it could be related to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, possibly in the form of a new expansion. However, there is no official confirmation to support that claim yet.

The majority remain focused on larger projects like Cyberpunk 2077 sequels, The Witcher 4, and the new IP codenamed Hadar. That being said, this mystery release could be part of the studio’s strategy to maintain a steady output between its biggest launches. Whether it turns out to be a smaller standalone title, an expansion, or something entirely new remains to be seen.

Earlier this month, CD Projekt Red also confirmed that it won’t be releasing any DLCs or expansions related to Cyberpunk 2077. Not to forget, the game director recently also revealed what players can expect from Project Orion’s (Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel) opening hours. You can read more about it here.
