Salesforce Is Down & Not Working Worldwide as Major Outage Hits Users During Dreamforce 2026

Salesforce is down for many users worldwide, with customers reporting severe delays, intermittent errors, and problems accessing some of the company’s cloud services. The major disruption began on September 16, affecting hundreds of Salesforce instances across multiple regions, including the US, India, Japan, the UK, France, and Germany.

Salesforce outage causes widespread access problems

According to Salesforce’s status information, the disruption affected customers across all three of the company’s operating regions. Users could encounter severe delays, intermittent errors, or an inability to access some services, while support case creation was also affected.

The outage reportedly began around 3:50 AM ET, or 7:50 AM UTC. Salesforce initially investigated the problem before identifying an issue involving requests stalling while waiting for a response from an internal login service. The stalled requests were using available server resources, contributing to the service disruption.

Ubfortunately for Salesforce, the outage happened during Dreamforce 2026, Salesforce’s major annual conference taking place in San Francisco from September 15 through September 17. The company is using the event to showcase new products and its broader AI strategy.

Salesforce says a fix is being deployed

Salesforce later said its engineering teams had identified and tested a fix before beginning a broader rollout. By around 10:42 UTC, the company said the fix was being deployed across its fleet and customers were beginning to see services return to normal.

However, Salesforce warned that customers could continue experiencing disruption while the fix was being rolled out. In the latest update, the company has noted, “As the rollout is progressing region-wise, most instances are recovering. Some customers may still see errors accessing the service until we finish a manual restart on their instance. We don’t have a confirmed resolution time. We’ll provide an update in 30 minutes or sooner if additional information becomes available.”
