XBOX Game Pass Adds Shape of Dreams Now, Hope in the City Coming Soon

Xbox Game Pass picked up two surprise announcements during Microsoft’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 showcase, with Shape of Dreams joining the service immediately and Hope in the City confirmed for November.

Shape of Dreams is available on XBOX Game Pass now

Microsoft shadow-dropped Shape of Dreams on XBOX Game Pass immediately after the showcase, as Pure Xbox writes. The game had not previously been confirmed for the service.

Shape of Dreams is available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud through Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Premium.

The game is a fast-paced top-down action roguelite built around projectile-heavy combat. Players can tackle it solo or team up in co-op with up to three friends.

Hope in the City joins Game Pass on November 10

Hope in the City was the second previously unconfirmed XBOX Game Pass announcement from the showcase. It will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 10, 2026, with a day-one Game Pass release.

The narrative mystery follows a 17-year-old girl investigating the disappearance of her parents and the unusual calm that has taken over her city. Players will search for clues, turn sketches into evidence, and gradually uncover what happened.

Hope in the City will also support Xbox Play Anywhere.

Several other games already confirmed for XBOX Game Pass appeared during Microsoft’s Tokyo Game Show presentation, but Shape of Dreams and Hope in the City were the two new additions revealed during the event.

In other news, the Xbox Game Pass September Wave 2 lineup has been revealed alongside this week’s Xbox Free Play Days selection.

Meanwhile, 8 games are leaving Xbox Game Pass on September 30, while 8 games are already confirmed for XBOX Game Pass in October.
