OpenAI Launches $500 ChatGPT Pro 500 Plan With 25x Plus Usage and Ultrafast Access

OpenAI has introduced a new ChatGPT Pro 500 subscription that costs $500 per month and gives users the company’s highest ChatGPT usage allowance yet. The plan offers 25 times the usage allowance of ChatGPT Plus and includes access to OpenAI’s new Ultrafast mode.

Pro 500 is all about more usage and faster responses

The new plan sits above OpenAI’s existing Pro tiers and is aimed at users who need substantially more capacity for intensive AI workloads. OpenAI says Pro 500 provides its highest usage allowance at 25x the ChatGPT Plus allowance.

The other major addition is Ultrafast, which gives users access to a faster service level for GPT-6 Astra. OpenAI says Ultrafast can deliver significantly faster token generation, with the company highlighting speeds of up to 8x faster in Codex compared with standard speed.

That makes the new subscription different from simply increasing the number of available prompts. OpenAI is also targeting users who spend a lot of time waiting for long coding, agentic, or professional tasks to complete.

OpenAI is also changing the Pro 200 allowance

The Pro 500 launch comes alongside a change to the existing $200 Pro plan. OpenAI has confirmed that new Pro 200 subscribers receive a lower usage allowance than the previous offering, while eligible existing subscribers can keep their previous allowance through October 29, 2026. After that date, the included allowance will decrease while the $200 monthly price remains unchanged.

OpenAI has also temporarily paused new Pro 200 sign-ups according to its current help documentation, although the company says existing subscriptions continue to renew.

In other OpenAI news, the company has released GPT-6.1 Sol with near-Astra performance at a much lower price, while also launching Dots, its always-on AI agents powered by GPT-6 Astra.
