This month’s Patch Tuesday Edition came with a new round of Windows 10 cumulative updates. Microsoft released tens of cumulative updates for all the Windows server and Windows 10 versions currently supported.
If you’re running Windows 10 version 1809 also known as the October 2018 Update, you can now download KB4493509 to boost your PC‘s performance.
Microsoft has been working really hard to get rid of the bugs annoying Windows 10 v1809 users. The tech giant didn’t introduced any new features, In other words, KB4493509 brings only fixes and improvements.Â

Blue Screen of Death error fix
Microsoft fixed a bug related to per font end-user-defined characters in KB4493509. It appeared when per font end-user-defined characters (EUDC) were enabled by users.
This issue caused Blue Screen of Death errors and made systems completely unresponsive.
IE 11 authentication bug fix
Windows 10 users reported they were experiencing authentication issues with WININET.DLL based applications including Internet Explorer 11 and few other.
The bug was triggered as soon as users attempted to use one Windows Server machine for multiple, concurrent login sessions.
Security updates
KB4493509 brings some important security updates for Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Server, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, Windows Graphics, Microsoft JET Database Engine and Windows MSXML.
Microsoft also listed some known issues affecting KB4493509. Windows 10 users who are running IE might experience browsing issues on specific sites.
The good news is that Microsoft is working to fix these bugs. However, it seems that users will have to wait for the bug fix to be released with the upcoming updates. You can expect a fix in the May 2019 Patch Tuesday release.
