Microsoft releases new Insider Preview Build

This month’s Patch Tuesday updates didn’t go well for all Windows 10 users. Some patches came with a series of bugs of their own.

Microsoft recently released a new Windows 10 cumulative updates to fix a bug affecting uk.gov websites. Update KB4505057 bumps the existing version of Windows 10 to 18362.116.

The patch addresses two important issues introduced by the previous releases.

Microsoft’s Senior Program Manager announced the news on Twitter:

KB4505057 changelog

Gov.uk access issue fixed

This Windows 10 cumulative update fixed the issue that was restricting Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11 browsers from accessing gov.uk websites.

The issue was caused by the May 2019 Patch Tuesday Updates that forced Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer to use HTTPS to connect to gov.uk sites.

However, the company later confirmed that the browsers could no longer connect to some gov.uk websites.

Installation failure bug fix

This release also addresses another bug that was introduced with the previous builds. This bug was restricting new installations on the operating system with the error 0x800f081f – CBS_E_SOURCE_MISSING.

Speaking of which, if you get this error code again, you can use this troubleshooting guide to fix it.

The update is available on your system as an automatic download. Microsoft released cumulative updates for all supported versions of Windows 10.

Apparently, Microsoft wanted to fix this bug ASAP. The tech giant rarely releases updates for Windows 10 Insider builds over the weekend.

KB4505057 known issues

Microsoft acknowledged a single known issue in KB4505057. The Redmond giant warned its users that Windows Sandbox or Windows Defender Application Guard may fail to launch with the error code 0x800705b4.

This guide might help you to fix this error just in case.

We can assume that the much-awaited May 2019 Update is officially rolling out this week. Microsoft plans to release the update in different phases to avoid major technical issues.
