Acer teases its first Googlebook ahead of IFA 2026

Googlebook, ever since it was announced, has been one of the hot topics in the PC market. In the recent past, we have come across a few leaks hinting that Googlebook would be shipped by different OEMs. Lenovo is among them, whose Googlebook 15 leaked back in late July. That’s not all; another leak also detailed Asus Googlebook.

Acer Googlebook gets an IFA 2026 preview

Well, Acer has confirmed that its Googlebook is “coming soon.” The announcement was made during its September 2 IFA preview event (via Android Authority). The company also offfered a quick glimpse of what appears to be a traditional clamshell laptop, with a Google Pixel phone sitting beside it.

While the timing is interesting given a scheduled Googlebook media event on September 15, Android Authority now reports that Google has reached out saying “there will be no public announcements of any Googlebook hardware” on that very day.

The teaser itself is pretty limited. Acer did not reveal pricing, a release date, or a complete specification sheet. However, earlier reports have pointed toward a 14-inch 120Hz OLED display, an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, 16GB RAM, and 256GB SSD storage. Those specifications remain unconfirmed by Acer. Acer’s Pixel pairing is also notable. It may hint at the close Android phone integration expected from Google’s new laptop platform.

Google has already identified Acer among its Googlebook hardware partners. For now, Acer has only promised that its Googlebook is coming soon.
