This summer, No Man’s Sky will celebrate its 8th anniversary. It’s been a big year for the game. After all, the Orbital update happened not so long ago. If you didn’t know, it introduced a space station overhaul, ship customizations, and intervention events. With the anniversary occasion, developers announced the 13th community expedition, Adrift.
It will be available for Xbox players later this week and will last seven weeks.
What is No Man’s Sky Adrift expedition about?
The Adrift expedition takes place in another universe where the galaxy is barren. So, you won’t meet any aliens, space stations, shops, helpers, and so on. This new update brings a new perspective on the game. In addition, the buildings are damaged, and you can find the graves of lost travelers as landmarks.
According to the update announcement, you will wake up on the worm-infested planet Lapezuk. Besides, you won’t meet other travelers, and your communications won’t work. Also, you will encounter fiend eggs across the planets.
In addition, the Space Anomaly is silent and lacks merchants or traders. Adrift will force you to survive on your own. So, the expedition will most likely make you feel a bit isolated, and at the same time, it will give you a sense of danger.
Get ready for new rewards
To survive the Adrift expedition, you will have to gather materials from different planets. Also, there are many repair, combat, and exploration challenges. After finishing them, you will get various rewards, such as a gnawing scuttler companion, ship parts, stealth paint, and more.
The stealth paint will give you the low radar customization look for your ship. On top of that, the update brings a new starship known as Iron Vulture, and there is a new ghostly frigate named Ship of the Damned.
To start the Adrift expedition, you can go to the Expedition terminus or use a fresh save, which might convert later into a Normal save. Additionally, you can claim all the rewards on other saves due to the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion.
Ultimately, this expedition will most likely be an interesting one. We can’t wait to try it and see how difficult it is, especially since it should give us a sense of danger while playing. On top of that, it could be a tough survival mode. However, keep in mind that it only lasts for seven weeks. So, hurry up and gather your friends.
