Age of Empires Mobile

Age of Empires is going mobile. The classic RTS game that has kept us glued to our screens, strategizing and conquering, is making its grand entrance onto our smartphones. Mark your calendars for October 17 because Age of Empires Mobile will officially launch on iOS and Android platforms.

First, Microsoft is pulling out all the stops to make this mobile version as epic as its PC counterpart. We’re talking about a game that’s not just a mere adaptation but a full-fledged experience with multiple single-player modes.

In the official announcement, the game promises immersive battlefields where you can engage in large-scale castle sieges. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill skirmishes but strategic confrontations requiring real-time micro-control over your troops. You’ll be doing this while managing realistic terrain and weather conditions. It’s strategy gaming on a whole new level.

Timi Studios, the developer behind Age of Empires Mobile, is shaking things up by introducing support for 1v1 battles and pre-battle features that are a fresh twist on the classic gameplay. You can pre-register for the game right now. Doing so not only means you’ll be among the first to dive into this adventure, but you’ll also snag some extra in-game goodies. If enough players preregister, there’s even a chance to unlock Cleopatra VII as a hero character.

2024 is shaping to be an exciting year for Age of Empires enthusiasts. We have the mobile game to watch, but there’s also a significant remake of Age of Mythology on the horizon, dubbed Age of Mythology: Retold. It’s set to hit PC and Xbox platforms on September 4, with early access for those who get the Premium Edition and Xbox Game Pass subscribers on day one.
