Amazon Alexa+ Can Now Generate Full AI Podcast Episodes

Amazon is rolling out a new Alexa+ feature that can generate complete podcast episodes using AI-generated hosts. Users can ask Alexa to create a podcast about almost any topic, turning the assistant into a personalized audio learning platform.

The feature focuses on conversational podcast generation powered by publisher-backed information sources and customizable prompts.

Alexa+ creates podcasts from voice prompts

Users simply tell Alexa what they want to learn about, and the assistant creates a draft plan for the episode before generation starts. Alexa then allows users to adjust the podcast’s length, focus, or direction using conversational commands.

Once the user approves the plan, Alexa generates a full podcast episode with AI-generated host voices discussing the topic.

Amazon appears to position Alexa Podcasts as more than a simple text-to-speech tool. The system focuses on creating structured podcast-style discussions using current information and trusted publisher partnerships.

Amazon says Alexa Podcasts pulls information from a large network of publishers to ensure episodes stay accurate and current.

The company listed sources including Associated Press, Reuters, The Washington Post, Forbes, and Business Insider.

After a podcast finishes generating, users receive a notification through compatible Echo Show devices or inside the Alexa app. Episodes can play immediately or remain saved inside the Music and More section for later listening. The feature is currently available for Alexa+ subscribers.

Spotify is also pushing AI-generated podcasts

Amazon joins a growing number of companies experimenting with AI-generated podcast experiences. Spotify recently introduced AI agents that can create and save personalized podcasts directly to user libraries.
