If you’re using the Amazon Appstore in Windows 11, we have some bad news: the app will be effectively discontinued on Windows 11 starting on March 5, 2025.
These days, Amazon is sending emails to all users who signed up for this platform, as spotted by tech enthusiast @xenopanther. If you’re one of them, you’ll receive the email sooner or later.
What to do? The tech giant advises all users that the apps downloaded from the Amazon Appstore are not guaranteed to work on Windows 11.
However, the platform will continue to work and be available elsewhere, including on Fire TV and Fire Tablet devices.
At the same time, the company will discontinue its Amazon Coins program later this year. Similar to the Microsoft Rewards program, Amazon Coins allows users to spend coins on redeeming apps, games, and items from the Amazon Appstore.
In a blog post, the company says it will retire the program on August 20, 2025, and starting this week, users can no longer purchase Amazon Coins, either.
What do you think about these deprecations?
