Arc Raiders Headwinds Patch Adds Escalating Anti-Cheat Penalties
Embark has released the latest Arc Raiders January update, officially labeled version 1.13.0 and branded as the Headwinds update. The patch delivers new content and gameplay changes, but one quiet addition has quickly become the main talking point across the community.
The new anti-cheat system in ARC Raiders is now available
According to reporting from TechPowerUp, the update introduces a new progressive anti-cheat punishment system that replaces the game’s earlier enforcement approach. As of January 2026, Embark now applies a three-strike model designed to escalate penalties instead of issuing immediate permanent bans.
Under the new rules, a first cheating offense results in a 30-day ban. A second offense increases the suspension to 60 days, while a third violation triggers a permanent account ban. Embark appears to aim for stronger deterrence while still allowing room for correction before removing players permanently.
The change follows growing pressure from the community, which has repeatedly asked for stricter anti-cheat measures. Reports have circulated about players abusing the system by selling weapon blueprints for real money, a practice that directly impacts game balance and progression.
At the same time, some players remain cautious. Concerns about false positives persist, with claims from users who say bans hit their accounts despite not cheating. The new structure attempts to address both sides by enforcing tougher rules without immediately locking players out forever.
Alongside the update, NVIDIA GeForce released a new Game Ready Driver that adds specific optimizations for the latest Arc Raiders update, helping PC players get smoother performance following the Headwinds rollout.
