Up until today, there was no Windows 10 computer truly able to compete against Apple’s MacBook — let alone defeat it. Now, ASUS has demonstrated the courage to launch a notebook that is lighter, thinner and faster than the MacBook. It calls it the ZenBook 3, one of the four new Windows 10 computers ASUS launched today.

The ZenBook 3 is a professional laptop built to meet the needs of a busy lifestyle. The first thing that immediately captures one’s attention about the ZenBook is its thinness, coming in at only 11.99mm/0.47-inches thick, and weighing in at only 910 grams/2 pounds. The laptop has a 12.6-inch Gorilla Glass 4 display and is powered by an Intel Core i7 CPU, with 1TB of SSD and 16GB of RAM. ASUS also announced a cheaper Intel i5, 4GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD version will also be available. The backlit keyboard allows you to type faster while still staying comfortable. The glass-covered touchpad can also recognize hand writing in case you prefer a more traditional way of writing.

The Zenbook 3 can also incorporate a fingerprint scanner on demand that is compatible with the Windows Hello log in system. Built for extreme usage, the battery can go for up to 9 hours, offering user remarkable battery autonomy while on the go. If you are in a hurry, the battery can charge up to 60% in just 40 minutes.

Designed for business professionals, the ZenBook 3 also comes with a mini-dock for extra connectivity. The four Harman Kardon speakers deliver crystal-clear sound so that you don’t have to carry a speaker with you. Loud sounds are rendered without distortion thanks to their five magnet system. The impressive design brings contrasting diamond cut edges and an aluminum unibody construction. The Zenbook 3 is available in three different colors:  Royal Blue, Rose Gold and Quartz Grey.

The Zenbook 3 will be available between $1,499 and $1,999 for the i7 version while the i5 version will cost $999. The laptop will be available for purchase later this year.
