2. Close startup and other background software

  1. Right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
  2. Select third-party apps and background apps listed on the Processes tab and select End task to close them.
  3. To stop programs starting with Windows, click the Start-up tab.

3. Run a system file scan

  2. Type powercfg.cpl in the text box and click OK to open the Control Panel applet shown directly below.

  3. Click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings to open the Advanced settings tab in the snapshot directly below.

  4. Click Hard disk > Turn off hard disk after to open the On battery text box.
  5. Replace the current value in the On battery box with 0.
  6. Click the Apply option, and press the OK button.

6. Reinstall the game the error arises with

  1. Press Start
  2. Enter appwiz.cpl in Run, and click the OK option.

  4. Click the Uninstall button.
  5. Select the Yes option on any confirmation prompts that might pop up.
  6. Restart Windows before reinstalling the game.
