There is a new Tiny 11 low RAM record

If you want to install a debloated Windows 11, a good answer is the Tiny 11 builder. It offers a lot of customization leeway and can work on older hardware. However, pushing the limits has always been the goal of some developers.

Now, as reported by PC Gamer, NTDev, the creator of Tiny 11 has posted on X that he managed what is seems to be a new record for running the Windows 11 OS.

He published a screenshot proving to run Windows 11 on 184MB of RAM and that is a low number even for the Windows XP era. However, there is a catch here. The developer used 400 of virtual memory to complement his efforts.

Another tweak was running the OS in Safe Mode, but he also reported being able to open some basic apps. However, if you’re wondering, it won’t run Doom and it will most likely crash if you open a browser.

Of course, the new record is just that, a record, and not a viable working OS. It’s still a remarkable achievement for whom it may concern. Tiny 11 is a great alternative to try in the advent of Windows 10 becoming soon obsolete, although there are consequences to running Windows 11 on low RAM.

There’s also an issue with Tiny 11 not being officially supported, so we don’t know if you’ll actually get updates.

Did you switch to Windows 11 yet? Tell us all about it in the comments below.
