CHUWI Launches Cheapest Wildcat Lake Laptop in China With $449 Price Tag
Intel’s next generation “Wildcat Lake” processors are reportedly starting to hit the market earlier than expected, and China seems to be getting first access. As spotted by VideoCardz, several OEMs have now started listing laptops powered by Intel’s new Core 300 series processors, with prices targeting the affordable thin-and-light segment currently dominated by Apple’s MacBook Neo. One of the first models to appear is the CHUWI UniBook.
CHUWI UniBook is a China origin laptop with Intel’s Wildcat Lake processor
The laptop ships with Intel’s entry-level Core 3 304 processor, which reportedly comes with a five-core setup. Interestingly, this is currently the only five-core processor within the Wildcat Lake lineup.
The device also packs 8GB LPDDR5X memory running at up to 7,467 MT/s alongside 256GB SSD storage inside a 14-inch chassis with a 1920×1200 IPS display.
At a time when Apple is aggressively pushing affordable MacBooks, the CHUWI UniBook appears to directly target that market, except it runs Windows 11 Pro on Intel’s x86 platform instead of Apple Silicon.
Honor, ASUS and HP laptops with Intel Core 5 320 also debut in China
That’s not all; in a separate report, VideoCardz also notes that other manufacturers including ASUS, HP, and HONOR have also started listing their Wildcat Lake-powered laptops through Chinese retailer JD. Devices including the ASUS Fearless 14SE 2026, HP OmniBook 3, and HONOR Notebook X14 2026 Combat Edition are all powered by the six-core Intel Core 5 320 processor.
Unlike the cheaper CHUWI model, these devices jump to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB SSD storage. Pricing reportedly starts around $571 for the HONOR model, while ASUS lands at roughly $597 and HP’s OmniBook 3 reaches $662 before taxes.
Speaking of specs, Intel’s new platform also brings Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, Thunderbolt 4 support, PCIe Gen 4 lanes, and an upgraded NPU capable of 40 TOPS INT8 AI performance. It appears Intel is heavily betting on AI-focused lightweight laptops this generation, especially as competition in the affordable premium segment keeps heating up. Not to forget, Intel also recently confirmed partnership with Google on its new Googlebook laptops.
