Activity reports now cover more apps

Microsoft has also expanded Family Safety activity reporting to include more applications used on children’s PCs.

Some apps previously failed to appear in activity reports, which could leave parents with an incomplete view of device usage.

The updated reports should provide broader coverage of the apps being used, overall device activity, and the time spent in individual applications.

Microsoft says it is also working on additional improvements to usage-time accuracy.

Family spending balances should update correctly

Microsoft has fixed an issue that caused Family Safety funding balances to display outdated information after parents added money to a child’s account.

Parents should now see the correct wallet balance after adding funds.

The fix should make it easier to track how much money remains available and manage children’s spending without waiting for the displayed balance to catch up.

Microsoft makes family groups easier to manage

Adult members of Microsoft family groups are also getting more control over group management.

Microsoft has improved the experience for adults who want to add family members, manage an existing family group, or leave a family group.

The company says these changes should give users more control over their own Family Safety setup.

Family Safety improvements are available now

The latest Family Safety fixes are available through current versions of the Microsoft Family Safety app on iOS and Android.

Parents can also manage Family Safety settings through Microsoft’s web-based family portal.

Microsoft says it plans to continue improving the service based on feedback from families.

The changes arrive as Microsoft expands its broader child-safety features. The company is also bringing age-aware app and AI controls to Windows 11.
