Microsoft is definitely not leaving the classic Outlook for Windows behind: The Redmond-based tech giant’s latest announcement says it will enhance the platform with AI agents for Copilot Chat.
That’s right: classic Outlook for Windows users will soon be able to access AI agents in the platform’s Copilot Chat, according to a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.
We will be adding declarative agents support for agents in Copilot Chat in Outlook. This roadmap item tracks availability in classic Outlook for Windows.
These agents should be available to all users starting April 2025. You might know already that the classic Outlook won’t be deprecated anytime soon.
The company even enhanced it with AI capabilities a while ago, and the platform will be around for a while, as well, even though the new version was made the default client, last year.
Will you be using AI agents in Copilot in classic Outlook?
