Yes, you read that right, and we’re not joking: thanks to an issue, it seems that time on Windows 11 might actually run faster than in real-time.
This issue was reported by a Windows user on Reddit. The user claimed that the operating system would force the clock to progress by 5 minutes and 22.47 seconds every 5 minutes.
Even more, when enabling the automatic time update, Windows 11 corrected the time, but it also persisted with the issue, continuing, of course, to run faster and faster (more specifically, by 7.5%).
The Reddit user then goes on to explain the issue:

What could cause this? Some agree that the computer’s RTC (Real Time Clock) was too fast. Others think NTP (Network Time Protocol) might have something to do with it.
Ultimately, this issue was solved by restarting the PC. Not shutting it down, but restarting it. The user checked the BIOS, and the PC worked fine after rebooting.
