EA releases source codes and modding support for Command& Conquer classig cames

Great news is coming out of the Command & Conquer camp—EA has just made a major move that’s sure to excite modders everywhere. In a surprising twist reported by Neowin, EA has published the source code from some of the classic Command & Conquer games, opening the door for fans and developers to tinker, innovate, and breathe new life into these iconic titles.

For anyone who’s ever dreamed of tweaking game mechanics or giving those old RTS classics a modern twist, this is a game-changer. With the source code now up for grabs, modders can dive deep into the inner workings of these beloved games, exploring everything from battle tactics to graphics, and even adding whole new features that could redefine the gameplay as we remember it.

EA’s decision comes as part of a broader effort to support creativity within the community. By handing over the keys to the code, they’re essentially saying that they trust fans to preserve the legacy of Command & Conquer while pushing the boundaries of what these games can become. It’s a win-win: long-time players get to relive the classics with fresh updates, and new modders have a rich playground to experiment in.

On the official GitHub page of EA, you will find the source code for the four C&C games and the remastered collection, as well as the modding support to help you get started.

So, if you’re a Command & Conquer fan, stay tuned for some interesting mods and a thrilling reboot of the series.
