Is Copilot for Outlook available?

Copilot is available for Outlook and other Microsoft 365 apps, including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The feature is integrated into Outlook, though you must manually enable Copilot to make the most of it.

Remember, Copilot is available on computer and mobile devices, offering pretty much the same features.

How do I turn on Microsoft Copilot in Outlook?

  1. Launch Outlook and then click on the File menu.
  2. Click on Options near the bottom left.options
  3. Under Compose messages, tick the checkbox for Enable Microsoft 365 Copilot.

How do I use Copilot in Outlook?

Now that you know how to activate Copilot in Outlook, let’s find out how to employ it on the email client. Press the blue Copilot icon or press Ctrl + Spacebar to view the automated suggestions. Also, you can enforce them directly from the suggestions window.

Here are the primary benefits of using Copilot:

  • Prioritize emails: Many receive hundreds of emails daily, and finding the relevant one is often challenging. Copilot in Outlook will look through the email contents and present the ones that require immediate attention or are on priority.
  • Choose from different writing styles: Copilot offers several writing styles to match the tone you need for a particular email for better results. This includes
    • Professional
    • Neutral
    • Casual
    • Make it a poem
  • Import data from other sources: You can add data from an Excel sheet or other sources to an email using Copilot. It will automatically analyze the content and then present it in a readable format. This also includes adding graphs and other visual representations.
  • Change the email length: When drafting emails using Copilot, you can always change the email’s text length. If you need to add more context, go with Long, use Medium for regular emails, and for emails of urgency, select Short.
  • Condense information: Got a lengthy email to look through? You can get Copilot in Outlook to present a condensed summary and quickly browse through the information.

Why can’t I find Microsoft Copilot?

Copilot hasn’t yet been released for everyone and is still in testing. Microsoft initially released it to a handful of users, and it should be rolled out for the general public soon.

Besides, ensure you have a Copilot subscription priced at $30 and an active Microsoft 365 subscription plan.

Remember, no AI-based tool is perfect and can’t be relied on blindly. And with Copilot in the early days, this verification should be all the more stringent.
