How to fix ERROR_LONGJUMP (0x2AA) on Windows

1. Run a system file checker

- Type the following commands:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Schedule a restart or restart your PC now.
- Wait for the process to complete.
3. Check your drivers
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand all categories to see all drivers installed on your PC.
- Look for devices with a yellow triangle (indicating driver issues).
- Right-click the device and select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers and follow the on-screen prompts.
- If the error persists, download and install the latest drivers directly from the manufacturer’s website.
Faulty drivers can also cause issues like ERROR_LONGJUMP on your PC, so make sure to keep your up to date. You can also hold them in line by using a dedicated driver updater tool which can automate the process.
4. Perfrom a clean boot
- Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
- Navigate to the Startup tab, and open Task Manager.
- Disable all startup items, close Task Manager, and restart your computer.
- Test if the issue persists. Re-enable services one by one to identify the culprit.
5. Reinstall or reset problematic app
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps> Installed apps.
- Find the app that triggers the error and click on the three dots next to it.
- If you have the Advanced settings options, click on it and select Reset.
- If you don’t click Uninstall, wait for the process to complete and reinstall the app from its official website.
- Check if the error persits.
