Sometimes you might get ERROR_MCA_OCCURED, and this error can be caused by your hardware and impact the stability of your PC, so let’s see how we can fix it.
How can I fix ERROR_MCA_OCCURED?
Before we start, ensure that you have the latest Windows updates installed.
1. Check the event log
- Press Windows key + R and type eventvwr.
- Once the Event Viewer opens, go to Windows Logs and select System.
- Look for any event that is labeled as Critical or Error that has occurred around the time of the crash.
- Research these issues on your own and try to resolve them or find the cause.
2. Update your drivers
- Visit your motherboard manufacturer’s website.
- Look for your motherboard model on the website and go to the Drivers section.
- Download and install the latest drivers for it.
- Do the same for GPU and other hardware.
3. Repair your system files
- Press the Windows key + S and enter cmd. Choose Run as administrator.
- Next, run the following commands:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth - Wait for the scans to finish.
- Once done, check if the problem is resolved.
4. Inspect your hardware
- Scan your memory for corruption. You can do that with MemTest86+ software.
- Check the PC for overheating. You can use any CPU monitoring software to do that.
- If you have any diagnostic tool, run it to scan your system.
- Check if your cables are properly connected. Consider replacing the PSU if it’s faulty.
- Reset your UEFI settings to the default.
