Fable Explodes on PlayStation as Trailer Hits One Million Views
During Developer Direct 2026, Microsoft showcased the new Fable and confirmed that the long-awaited reboot will launch on PlayStation alongside Xbox.
According to Push Square, PlayStation fans have responded with overwhelming enthusiasm. The teaser trailer uploaded to the official PlayStation YouTube channel has already surpassed one million views.
A million views later, PlayStation players are clearly ready to visit Albion
The trailer has gathered more than 26,000 likes and currently shows over twice the views of the same video on the Xbox YouTube channel. That difference partly reflects audience size, as PlayStation’s channel has roughly three times more subscribers than Xbox’s.
Even so, the numbers highlight genuine excitement. This marks the first time a Fable game will arrive on a PlayStation console, ending the franchise’s long-standing Xbox exclusivity and opening the door to a much broader audience.
The reboot comes from Playground Games, which aims to modernize Albion with updated visuals, refined combat, and the series’ trademark humor. Cross-platform availability also signals Microsoft’s continued shift toward releasing first-party titles beyond its own hardware ecosystem.
As for timing, Microsoft expects Fable to launch on PlayStation 5 this autumn. In related news, fresh industry chatter suggests that Xbox may prepare a second Developer Direct showcase later this year, potentially bringing more announcements to both Xbox and PlayStation audiences.
