Mozilla didn’t wait long to patch up issues in Firefox 140. Just two days after the major release, the browser has been updated to version 140.0.1, addressing two noticeable bugs: a startup crash and unreadable text in the sidebar for dark theme users.
What’s fixed in 140.0.1
If you’ve been running into black text on dark backgrounds in the sidebar, that’s now resolved. Mozilla fixed the contrast issue affecting some dark themes. The update also stops a startup crash caused by DLL injection, which had been affecting a number of users.
You can get the update by heading to Menu > Help > About Firefox, or by downloading it directly from Mozilla’s website or the Microsoft Store.
Firefox 140 itself launched just earlier this week with a batch of notable upgrades. These included support for custom search engines, right-click tab unloading, and a resizable pinned tab section when using vertical tabs.
It also stripped out Pocket integration, as Mozilla announced it’s discontinuing Pocket and Fakespot to focus fully on Firefox.
