Forza Horizon 6 Shows Off Massive Japan Map in Summer Season Reveal
Playground Games delivers its most detailed map yet
Playground Games has officially revealed the full Summer Japan map for Forza Horizon 6, giving players their first complete look at the game’s world ahead of release. As Pure Xbox reports, select content creators have already received early access, offering a closer preview of what to expect.
A dense and vertical take on Japan
The full map appeared on the official Forza Horizon X (Twitter) account, showcasing a wide range of environments across Japan. The Summer Season version highlights everything from snow-covered Alpine hills to Tokyo’s dense urban streets, alongside quieter countryside roads.
Developers describe this as the most dense and vertical map in the series so far. The layout places heavy emphasis on elevation changes, tighter road networks, and varied terrain that shifts depending on the region.
Seasonal changes will reshape the map
The revealed version focuses on the Summer Season, but seasonal changes will likely transform key areas and points of interest. This means locations could look and play differently across the year, affecting races, exploration routes, and events.
The setting also leans heavily into Japanese car culture, which plays a central role in the overall experience. Players can expect a large roster of vehicles, with over 550 real-world cars confirmed.
Early access previews already underway
While the full release is set for May 16, 2026, early access previews have already started circulating from creators. These previews follow earlier announcements from Playground Games, including detailed PC system requirements ranging from minimum to extreme configurations.
That’s not all, as fans will also be able to get new Forza Horizon 6-inspired Xbox accessories starting May 19.
With the full map now revealed, players have a clearer picture of how Forza Horizon 6 aims to evolve the open-world racing formula.
