Gears of War: E-Day Day One Beta LowLevelFatalError, Drone-Snub, Bryce-Vigil & More Errors Get Official Fixes & Workarounds

Thousands of players jumped into the Gears of War: E-Day Multiplayer Beta on day one. Not everyone made it into a match, though. Login failures, launch crashes, and strange error codes quickly started appearing. The good news is that developers have already acknowledged many of them.

The Gears Community team has now published an updated list of known issues alongside several temporary workarounds. While permanent fixes are still in development, some players may be able to get back into the beta immediately.

Several error codes already have official fixes
One of the most common issues is drone-snub. According to the developers, the error can appear because of strict network security settings, VPN connections, or closed UDP Port 443.

Players using AT&T internet are advised to disable ActiveArmor if possible. Those connecting through university, corporate, or government networks may also experience the same issue because of network restrictions.

Another reported error, quentin-ephyra, is linked to Xbox Quick Resume. The current workaround is simply disabling Quick Resume before launching the game. Meanwhile, bryce-vigil and gill-gutpuncher error are both caused by incorrect system date and time settings. On Windows, developers recommend using the Sync Now option inside the Date & Time settings.
Steam and PC players are seeing additional problems

The Coalition also acknowledged a LowLevelFatalError affecting Xbox PC App users. Players encountering it should run Microsoft’s Gaming Services Repair Tool.

Steam users are reporting controllers not being detected. Some players have restored controller support by disconnecting their mouse and keyboard before launching the beta.

Steam account linking issues are also under investigation. Developers recommend using the Gaming Services Repair Tool and confirming the correct Xbox account is signed into the Xbox PC app.
