If you’re a fan of the Microsoft Rewards program, then we have some not-very-good news for you: Microsoft Rewards for Xbox might be discontinued, according to Brazilian users who received pop-ups from Xbox.

Xbox enthusiast, @IdleSloth84_ then covered the story and offered a translation of the original Brazilian post which reads:

Earn Rewards with Xbox

We recreate activities, which we simplify and more integrate players love. The Rewards experience on Xbox by making it revolve around gameplay and with the new Rewards hub on Xbox, players will no longer need to have separate apps to earn or redeem Reward points on Xbox Starting in December 2023, we will no longer publish offers in the Microsoft Rewards app on Xbox, focusing instead on new one Rewards.

Basically, this change is intended to simplify and streamline the Rewards experience for activities in the new hub players and help them access all Xbox-related offers and activities in one convenient location. The weekly series continues until the end of November and, after that, it will be deactivated in the application, along with the weekly sequence, Rewards with Xbox will remain part of the Microsoft Rewards program, and any points you earn on Xbox will continue being associated with points from other parts of the program. To maximize your points and earn even more, be sure to check out.

Xbox

As you can see Microsoft Rewards for Xbox is going away if we are to believe the post, which @IdleSloth84_ confirmed its legitimacy, but another similar program will be released instead, a special Rewards hub just for Xbox.

Microsoft Rewards on Xbox will be retired in December 2023, followed by the implementation of the new hub, which will focus on a more streamlined and integrated experience of getting Rewards points for Xbox. What does this mean? Well, Xbox users might earn points by actively playing games, but this is just a theory for now.

Users have until the end of November to get their Microsoft Rewards for Xbox points in order, before migrating to the new hub. This leaves us a week until we can see if the Xbox gets a new Rewards hub or not.

Should you try the new Rewards hub for Xbox?

Even if Microsoft Rewards for Xbox is gone, the new Rewards hub should follow the same structure: users will have some tasks and objectives to reach to earn rewards points that they can use to pay for games, Game Pass subscriptions, and even consoles.

Using Microsoft Rewards is not complicated, and we have an in-depth guide on how you can earn the maximum points you get in a day, guess what: it doesn’t even take you 30 minutes to do it.

If you’re already using Microsoft Edge, for instance, you can get rewarded with points only by browsing on the internet. It might not be much at first but combined these points can get you Xbox consoles for free, basically.microsoft rewards xbox

And now, if Microsoft is truly implementing a Rewards hub for Xbox (although, we still have to wait and see an official statement from the Redmond-based tech giant), the streamlined experience means users can actually earn points by playing games on Xbox, which could be a success for the program.

We’ll update the article as soon as there are official statements from Microsoft on this.
