Google has started rolling out Gmail AI Inbox to paid Google Workspace customers, bringing AI-powered email summaries, task suggestions, and priority updates to business users.

According to Google, the feature helps employees identify important tasks, deadlines, and updates without manually reviewing lengthy email conversations.

Google introduced AI Inbox earlier this year, initially making it available to English-speaking Gmail users in the United States. The latest expansion brings the experience to eligible Workspace customers on desktop and mobile devices.

Gmail AI Inbox highlights important tasks and conversations

Gmail AI Inbox uses AI to organize important information from emails and help users focus on work that requires attention.

The feature offers two main capabilities:

  • Suggested to-dos: Identifies tasks, deliverables, deadlines, and follow-up actions from email conversations.
  • Priority summaries: Generates summaries of important conversations, highlighting key decisions, recent updates, and information users may need.

Instead of reading through long email threads, users can review AI-generated summaries to catch up on discussions and identify outstanding work.

Google designed the feature to help employees and business leaders manage their workloads and reduce the chances of overlooking important deadlines.

Which Google Workspace plans support AI Inbox?

Google is expanding AI Inbox to several paid Workspace editions, including Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus.

The feature also supports Frontline Plus and AI Pro for Education customers.

For now, availability remains limited to users in the United States who have set their language to English (US). Google also confirmed that Workspace administrators will not have a dedicated control to manage AI Inbox.

Rollout begins in October 2026

Google began the gradual rollout for Rapid Release domains on October 12, 2026. The company expects the process to take up to 15 days.

Scheduled Release domains will start receiving AI Inbox on October 26, with another gradual rollout lasting up to 15 days.

The exact availability will depend on each organization’s Workspace release settings.

The expansion follows Google’s broader push to bring Gemini-powered tools into its productivity services. The company recently unveiled a new Gemini Agent at Gemini at Work 2026 and launched Gemini 4 Argon globally, continuing its efforts to automate everyday tasks.
