Google Rolls Out Gemini 3 in Chrome With Side Panel, Auto Browse, and More
Google has announced a massive Gemini update for Chrome, which could forever change how you browse. The company has rolled out Gemini 3 in Chrome. Available on Mac, Windows, and Chromebook Plus, the new features will make multitasking online faster and more seamless.
Google redefines Chrome browsing with a massive Gemini 3 update
The side panel experience is finally debuting in Chrome, as part of this update. It will allow you to keep your main tab open while handling other tasks alongside it. You can compare options across tabs, summarize product reviews, or schedule events without constantly switching windows.

On the creativity front, Chrome is also getting Nano Banana integration. Meaning, you can now generate images directly in Chrome. Gemini lets you get things done instantly, without the headache of uploads and third-party apps.
Moving on, Gemini in Chrome now also supports Connected Apps, like integrations to Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Maps, Google Shopping, and Google Flights. Booking a flight, referencing old emails, or drafting messages can all happen in one place, saving both time and effort, thanks to Gemini.
Personal Intelligence is also coming to Chrome
Personal Intelligence, which is in the Gemini app, is also coming to Chrome soon. You will be able to opt in, connect apps, and give instructions for more personalized responses. Chrome essentially learns from past interactions to provide context-aware help.
If you have access to the AI Pro and Ultra plans and live in the US, you also get Chrome Auto Browse. With this feature in place, Gemini can now handle complex multi-step tasks. Think of booking your holiday, managing all your subscriptions, and even processing images to add items to carts with discounts applied.

Last but not least, Google is also rolling out Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP). That’s an open standard for agentic commerce, in partnership with Shopify, Etsy, Wayfair, and Target. Moreover, it will allow AI agents to perform tasks securely, with confirmations for sensitive actions.
