Wondering how to redeem a custom Xbox Gift Card amount using Microsoft Rewards without being stuck to a $5 increment? There’s some good news for you. The Xbox May update (via PureXbox) lets you choose custom amounts when redeeming Xbox credit through Rewards.
Previously, you had to redeem points in fixed $5, $10, or $25 amounts. But that’s changed now. Now, you can pick any amount between $5 and $100, giving you more control over your balance and how many points you use.
How to redeem a custom Xbox Gift Card amount
- First of all, open the Microsoft Rewards hub and head to the catalog.
- When you select the Xbox Gift Card option, you’ll now see a drop-down with preset values and a new “Custom” choice.
- Select that “Custom” choice option, and enter the exact amount of credit you want—say, $8, $9.5, or any value under $100.
- Finally, click the “Redeem Reward” option.
Once confirmed, the credit goes straight to your Microsoft account.
Although it’s a small change, Xbox players like you will have more flexibility on how to handle store credit. It’s useful if you’re just short of a game’s sale price or don’t want to burn all your points at once.
It’s also handy for parents managing kids’ accounts or for anyone looking to top up their balance without overspending.
