Surface Pen tip multipack

The Surface Pen is a great accessory and it can last for a very long time. However, it might one day stop working. Thus, that could be the first reason you might consider changing the tip.

Yet, after a while, there are multiple reasons why you should do it. For example, the Surface Pen tip can wear down in time. Furthermore, the one you have might not correspond with your style.

Can I replace the Surface Pen tip?

Surface Pen tips wear out after months of using them. Yet, you can replace them easily, especially if you need a different style. Thus, you might want to get this kit from Amazon with H, HB, B and 2H. Also, if you don’t know much about the styles, here are some quick descriptions:

  1. HB: This is the default medium tip. It is similar to a #2 pencil on paper and it is great for design and writing.
  2. H: This tip is mostly for sketching and writing. In addition, it feels like a fine point pen. Moreover, it feels a bit smoother and lighter.
  3. 2H: This one offers you a greater precision. Unlike the others, it feels like a sharp pencil that lacks friction.
  4. B: This tip is for drawing. It has more friction then the others, and it feels like a soft pencil. Thus, you can use it for shading and other applications.

By the way, consider ordering the tips from the Microsoft. There aren’t many alternatives available, and most of them are not worth it because the feeling is not the same. In addition, if your Surface Pen stops working with any tip, consider checking its circuit board.

How do you remove the tip of a Surface Pen?

You can use the kit mentioned previously to remove the tip of a Surface Pen, or you can use tweezers. But, if you go for tweezers, make sure to coat the end with cloth or another soft material to avoid damaging them. Afterward, all you need to do is to softly and slowly get the tip out.

In a nutshell, the Surface Pen tips are expendable. Thus, consider changing them now and then when they feel a bit off. In addition, they might leave a trail of unwanted residue after a long period. Fortunately, you can easily clean it up. Furthermore, try using different tip styles for your work.
