LG has unveiled the new LG UltraGear 25G590B, claiming it as the world’s first Full HD gaming monitor with a native 1000Hz refresh rate. The monitor targets competitive esports players and focuses heavily on ultra-fast responsiveness for FPS gaming.

The new UltraGear model features a 24.5-inch Full HD display and supports its full 1000Hz refresh rate without relying on dual-mode technology. That means players do not need to lower resolution or switch screen modes to reach maximum refresh speeds.

Native 1000Hz without compromises

Unlike some gaming monitors that use special dual-mode settings to achieve extremely high refresh rates, LG says the 25G590B runs at native 1000Hz by default. Players can use Full HD resolution and the maximum refresh rate simultaneously.

LG says this creates more consistent practice conditions for competitive gaming while also improving motion smoothness, visual feedback, and input responsiveness.

The 24.5-inch screen size also reflects the monitor’s esports focus. LG claims the smaller display helps players keep critical visual information within their natural field of view during fast-paced matches.

Built for motion clarity and competitive gaming

The monitor includes Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology designed to make moving objects appear sharper and easier to track during gameplay.

LG also confirmed the monitor uses an advanced IPS panel alongside a low-reflection coating to reduce glare. According to the company, this should improve visibility in different lighting environments while maintaining consistent color reproduction.

The stand uses a compact, minimalist design intended to leave more desk space for mouse movement. LG also added calibration indicators to help users fine-tune swivel, tilt, and height adjustments more accurately.

AI-powered gaming features included

LG is also adding several AI-focused features to the UltraGear 25G590B.

AI Scene Optimization automatically adjusts image settings depending on the game genre, while AI Sound aims to improve positional audio and voice clarity when compatible headsets are connected.

These additions are meant to complement the monitor’s extreme refresh rate and create a more immersive gaming experience overall.

Launch planned for later this year

LG says the UltraGear 25G590B will launch first in select markets during the second half of 2026, with wider availability expected later.
